The Marks of The Spiritual Entrepreneur: Competencies, Entrepreneurial Mindset, and Worldview
Abstract
Is there a way to distinguish an entrepreneur from the rest of the population? Is there way to distinguish a successful entrepreneur from other entrepreneurs? Is there a way to distinguish an entrepreneur who is a true Christian from other entrepreneurs? This paper suggests that the answer to these questions is, “Yes, but it is complicated.” Taking a strategic management approach, the authors outline the connections between an entrepreneur’s critical competencies, created by and embedded in an entrepreneurial mindset and the individual’s worldview. We propose that success results from fitting competencies to the market through the entrepreneurial mindset and making decisions through the entrepreneur’s value system embedded in his or her worldview. The paper ends with a model showing the links between the entrepreneur’s mindset and a biblical worldview.
